August 2013 - Andrew Pearce's Ker 40 Magnum III has won Class 1 Overall in the Rolex Fastnet Race. Andrew and his team sailed fast and smartly to be heading the Overall Fastnet leader board for much of their last day, though in the end conditions for the overall prize favoured the smaller boats following later. Trading the top spot on the leader board was eventual Class 1b winner, Bernard and Laurnet Gouy's Ker 39 'Inis Mor', overall winner of last years' around Ireland race, but close behind were other Ker designs, filling six of the top nine places of the 43 boat class. Overall results for the Ker designs looked spectacular before the smaller yachts came in on stronger breeze. Magnum benefited from some close racing with three other Ker 40's in the race, but got ahead showing superior speed and tactics on the fast reach through the night back from the Fastnet Rock. On the right a great pic of Catapult powering upwind by Ingrid Abery and an interview of Tactician Geoffrey Ewenson during the regatta. A re-score under the new release of the ORCi rule also put Catapult at the top of the leaderboard (with closely packed corrected time spreads behind), going some way to justify the Ker 40's recent Sailing World Boat of the Year Award in the category of "Best Handicap Racer"

Warwick was joined for his first Hobart race by Anthony Patterson who brought along some of his old team from the Ker 11.3 'Tow Truck', formerly a double division winner in the Hobart Race. July 2012 - Jonathan Gorings' Ker 40 "Keronimo" is overall top boat in the Brewin-Dolphin Commodores Cup and a member of the winning team. Her individual winning margin was particularly impressive, carrying only 62% of the points of the second placed yacht. In all four Ker designs were in the top seven overall, including Keronimo's sisterships "Magnum III" and "Baraka GP", the latter having only been in the water for a month beforehand. The predominently light conditions have been rare in the UK during the last two seasons, but the Ker 40 crews soon learned to get the best out of their versatile yachts and in particular Jonathan and his team on "Keronimo" were able to put toggether an impressively consistent scoreline.

Equally amazing is that the same two Ker designs were 1st and 2nd in the previous edition of the race two years ago, except that time it was Tonnerre winning by a narrow margin over Inis Mor. Tonnerre spent her race battling for the on-the-water lead with a Cookson 50 and a Volvo 70, while equally impressively Inis Mor spent her time in the company of the lead Class 40 and a Swan 56!
June 2012 - Andrew Pearce's Ker 40 "Magnum III" wins her class in the Myth of Malham Race. The brutal 40+ kt beat to the eddystone rock followed by a wild ride home led to a large number of retirements and only three boats finished the race.

June 2012 - Jens Kellinghusen's new Ker 51 "Varuna" wins the Kiel - Eckernforde Welcome Race at Kieler Woche. The return section, won by Varuna was a downwind blast in over 20kts of wind, see (and enlarge) the video...
June 2012 - Ker 40 "Magnum III" is the new class 1 UK IRC National Champion! Andrew Pearce and his team sailed well against very tough opposition to scoop the top prize, beating Ker 39 "Antix" by one point. This championship win puts Ker 40's as IRC National Champions at opposite ends of the world, with "Ice Breaker" having won the New Zealand IRC championship in March. Some exciting video from Magnum III during the regatta here...
